The Red Shoes advances 5-4 with my tie-breaking vote.

Playtime advances on a coin flip after my vote for Marriage of Maria Braun makes a 2-2 tie.

Last vote of round 3. I'll leave this up all weekend since we're going to Chattanooga to ride Thomas the Tank Engine.

Kurosawa struck out on his first attempt, but he still can join P & P with 2 films in the final 8. Don Luis can also score a 2nd film in the quarters at Kurosawa's expense.

I am most surprised that Black Narcissus and Playtime made it to the final 8. I'm most disappointed that Tokyo Story did not.

I too am most surprised about Playtime advancing (pleasantly so), but am most disappointed by Sullivan's Travels not. :frowning:

I've seen 2 of the films in your current brackets, but not in the same bracket, hence

The Passion Of Joan Of Arc (Black Narcissus has some of the best cinematography ever, but not a lot else going for it IMO)
