    Hi all,

I want a pretty good sounding 5.1 setup that I will play music on, watch TV and movies and occasionally play games.

There is a local store that has the Bose Acoustimass (Model AM10SERIVB)
for $999. The sales guy is also selling me a $300 Yamaha receiver for about $230.

He says these speakers sound great. However, I have seen some posts that steer people away from Bose. Am I making a mistake?

Remember, I am not an audiophile, but I do like to listen to music.

    Thanks,
    Pete R.

I think the reason people don't care for bose is because you are paying for the name. Energy is another company with great sound in a small package. Atlantic Technology is another speaker company with great sound for not a lot of money in their entry levels.
