Well even if they didn't have any soft-tissue specifics like the ears, nose, chin, hair, skintone, and eyes, I'm sure they would have come to the exact same conclusions. They were just adding all that stuff for the tech-nonsavy audience.....yeah....sure...

IMO, out of the new shows I'm watching, this is the weakest so far. But David's my boy from the very good old ANGEL days so I'll stick with it for a while. Here's to hoping it gets better as time goes by.

Ep 2 was a million times better than the pilot, which was already good. The chemistry between Temperance and Seeley was better, she's still kicking suspect ass and taking names along with being oddly eccentric and totally out of touch with her emotions. Angela (the visual reconstruction specialist & flasher of the bustier) continues to steal the show. Spying on Seeley's girlfriend and the tiff in the bar were inspired! :emoji_thumbsup:

The only downside is that the character of Jack the Conspiracy Freak is really starting to annoy me. Either tone him down or deep six him, PTB. Also, maybe I've been spoiled with twisty shows like the Law & Order franchise, The Closer, Medium, etc., but Bones seems to be mostly twist-free which I find slightly irksome. I want surprises, dammit! ;)

See, I disagree... I thought this episode was pretty bad. Maybe it's because I didn't stick with it.. watched about the first 15 minutes and realized how forcefully they were tryign to create some sort of chemistry between the 2 lead characters... and it came across that way. That and they keep trying to create tension between characters ... everything feels forced. Was just painful to watch. I turned it off and made dinner while NCIS recorded.

I remember an Elvis Costello song near the end and the closed captioning said the title, but I can't remember it at the moment. Is that the one you are asking about?

Neil

Unfortunately, I guess the Elvis song must have been at the end of House. I took a look at the end of Bones again last night and had no idea what the song was.

IMO, Bones is a hundred times better than NCIS. I tried watching it once and it was so laughable.

I really liked last night's episode and like David's performance. Deschanel is kind of growing on me too.

Bones is being moved to Wednesdays 8pm CST (1/24) going up against the giant Lost and the struggling Veronica Mars (both favs), as well as Criminal Minds and Big Fat Loser. Can't be good be good for Bones and Booth.

vm repeats (at least for me) at 7 pm on sun, and lost in hd is a must, so i guess i'll tape bones (not the greatest show, but have enjoyed the few epsidoes that i have seen. not a big fan of any of the csi shows.

Also directly after the American Idol results show. It won't get the most viewers in the slot, but it'll do OK. I don't think it will shed what viewers it has already picked up.

howdy folx,

i love Bones. i started watching it cause a' Angel. it didn't start out very well, but i think by the Christmas episode, it has hit a stride of sorts. though, i wish they hit that stride back in the premiere =).

i think it's got potential but what do i know? fox shows=good shows that get canned.

i think the entire cast is really good... except for the "artist", which i think is weird in the context of the show. anyway, i love how Temperence just doesn't care about normal courtesy/human behavior but she's supposed to be the EXPERT on athropology. i love that irony =).

On an enjoyment scale, I prefer / watch BONES and then tape or watch LOST when it airs at midnight - because of the pacific time zone difference, and I get some channels from Vancouver.

BONES is a lot of fun, and I like everyone on the show... LOST is so intense, with so many shady characters and situations...It's an important show, but not an enjoyable one for me. I watch it because I need to see what happens on the island, whether I like it or not.

I'm liking Bones. I didn't start watching it as I didn't want to add new shows, but my wife was watching it. Once in a while I'd record it for her on my PC and then edit out the commericals for her and I'd watch portions because of DB (I'm an Angel fan). Once I got past the silly notion that there was nothing paranormal going on ( I don't know why I thought that - guess I was expecting something like Medium or Ghost Whisperer) I began to enjoy it. I like Booth and Temperance - I like that she's more clinical and more like CSI's Grissom. I think they need to tone down her being "superwoman" - crack shot and able to kick anybody's butt - good and refreshing, but it's tad much sometimes.

For me, David Boreanaz is a television staple - ANGEL, that other show that Angel was introduced on, and now this series.

When I saw this thread back up at the top I was expecting that it was because the show got canned. Thankfully that was not the case :)

Depends on how it's presented. My favorite moment to date was when the security clearance investigator tried to interrogate her, and she just went stone-faced when [I forget the name] was mentioned, picked up the phone.

"[to phone] You told me to call you if xxx was ever mentioned to me. . . [to investigator] he wants to talk to you."

Sorry, but I meant every word.

I'm no fan of the Buffster, but the big broody one? Favorite show of all time.

I really enjoy the show, my only problem to this point is Hodgins. He's been mega-toned down since the pilot but I still find him annoying & grating. I can't tell if it's because of the way the character's written or the actor's choices in playing the role, but it brings my enjoyment down a notch or two whenever he whines about governmental conspiracies or 'sticks it to the man'.
