$30 a season. I had a bit of evil in me hoping these wouldn't be as popular just so I could get them dirt cheap. this sale just came at the wrong time. I couldn't get it. I'm sure they do it again Black Friday.

I think these Steelbook editions is a waste of time for those that already have these titles on BD. There might be exceptions, but unless you're buying the title for the first time on BD, you probably can save your money by not purchasing it again.

Agreed. I chased Steelbooks for a while, particularly with the James Bond movies. But then I realized life is too short for that kind of thing. I'm not going to sell my current version of 300 just to rebuy it in the new packaging. (Or any other movie, for that matter.)

Right, unless they offer better video, audio or bonus material it doesn't make much financial sense to purchase these titles again on steelbook releases.

I agree, Robert. I recently acquired my first Steelbook when Chinatown was available for a good price -- this was a title I didn't own on BD. After receiving the item, I couldn't figure out what the big deal is about these editions (I had never even seen one before).

And yet there is an entire universe of collectors out there desperate to get as many titles as they can in steelbooks (even if they might not care for the film).

Go figure.

I see no reason to go out of my way for them either...especially since any one I might want I already own in traditional packaging.
