Target sort of screwed up in their BF ad, and displayed the LotR Trilogy BD amongst the titles on sale for $7.99 (they intended the individual LotR titles to be available at that price), but they would honor the price for the Trilogy BD version as well for the 2-day sale (ending Saturday after black Friday).

So, if you go to the Target website:

http://www.target.com/Lord-Rings-Picture-Trilogy-Blu-ray/dp/B003HPAYZG/

Click on the "Find it at a Target store" link, put in your zip code, and then check and see if any nearby store report it being in stock. If it shows up as " limited availability" you still have a shot.

Be sure to write down the DPCI number: 058-40-0021, drive to the store, and give this number to a sales clerk and have them punch it into their handheld inventory device, and if it shows up as being in-stock, but isn't on the store shelves in the DVD area, have them check in the store room/back area for it. You may get lucky.

I did this, and got lucky and picked up the trilogy set for $7.99 + tax.

At our Target they actually have a sign up that lists the trilogy as the item and says save $67 dollars above the $7.99 price. Unfortunately they were out and I didn't think to ask. Had I read Patrick's post first I might have been able to pick it up. Going to try a couple of other stores tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

Love to hear about the bargains you guys have

been getting.

So, uhm, the other day I bought all 3 LOTR

films for $9 each.

Today I waited for the lightening deal on

SAVING PRIVATE RYAN and scooped one up

for $9. Need to thank Adam Gregorich for all

his support in making certain I got that film as

he knew I had wanted it for quite some time.

The BIG GET for me is Back To The Future.

I am hoping that the set comes down to about

$25 on Monday afternoon.

As for MAD MEN, I have been considering it,

but then decided I'll just watch it on Netflix. I

really am trying to get out of buying TV shows

when I can easily watch them with my Netflix

subsription. However, if I can't get the deal I

want on BACK TO THE FUTURE on Monday

I'll consider MAD MEN.

Ron, if you still want those Mad Men sets, today is the last day they are on sale at Amazon. Tomorrow they will most likely be $30 per season, instead of $10.

I hit Walmart at 1 am and filled my cart with BDs, TV season sets, and video games. Then I pared it down to The Princess Bride, Jumper, Night at the Museum 2, two PS3 games, and a Wii game. (And some toys for Hanukkah presents). I'm quite proud of myself -- my resistance was much lower in the DVD frenzy days.

The next afternoon we went to a different Walmart for groceries, and I stumbled across Michael Jackson: This Is It on BD for $10. I hadn't even realized that it was part of the sale!
