Best bookshelves on the low end (1 Viewer)

He should consider the Vienna Acoustics Haydns. Some of the best low end on a small speaker I have heard. Very nice looking too. It does need good amplification and can be tricky to place or the bass will tend to get boomy. mated really well with a B&K amp. 6 ohm. MSRP around $1,000.

While they are a little larger than most bookshelfs the Polk LSi9s are a wonderful speaker with a lot of bass. This is one of my favorite stand mount speakers. 4 ohm rating. It too needs good high current power, preferably separates. Also a very nice looking speaker.
