Best $3000 RPTV (1 Viewer)

OK. I love the Samsung DLP but my wife won't let me spend $5000. So, what is my best option for watching DVD Movies and HDTV sports programming for $3000? Which RPTV?

Also, what inputs, at a minimum should I have for this set up?

I also love the DLP, get what you like so you dont want to upgrade. Were you looking for a bigger screen?
