If tonight is the unveiling, you guys will probably get the news before us.

I don't generally post the press releases until very early morning (1am) here on
the East Coast. So, please feel forward to share in this thread and I'll update the
existing thread in the morning.

I'm sure the price is not done moving around, but It's currently $269 at Amazon...

Wow! Luckily I got my pre-order in at $115.

But I'm sure it will change many times over after the official announcement.
When was it ever $115? According to camelx3 Amazon, at least, never had it below $189.

Jason,

Appreciate the breakdown of price.

I understand the value. Not criticizing Warner.

However...

Firstly, we live in the age of Amazon where everything comes down
in price. I could have jumped on the Rodgers & Hammerstein collection
at $150. A week ago I got it for $50.

Batman: The Complete Series will drop substantially in the months that follow.

Secondly, it's quarter four. We all will have a wealth of preordered
Blu-ray product arriving between October - December. To spend
nearly $200 on a single release, on top of all the smaller releases, is
just a bit much to bite on.

I wish I could jump at that price. Just going to sit it out awhile.

Actually, I have already set my desired price: $100

Mind you, I don't think that's what the set is worth, but that is what
I am willing to pay for it as long as I wait.

I bet yuh it can be had at that price within a year post release date.
I've already decided to get the Bluray on Batman. I don't plan on preordering . I figure at some point it will come way down in price - $100.00 sounds really good, and possibly at that price after the holidays .

It will be interesting to see how limited edition the Blu-ray will be. And no price is too great to see Julie Newmar in 1080p.

I'd bet my life that the 'regular' set won't be limited in the sense that it will be numbered or anything like that. My guess is that it'll be easily available for at least a year and it'll be available until Warners releases the same thing in a different/unlimited box.

We'll we knew WB was going to blow this, if this dosen't sell well, think they'll wash their hands of this and hastly give it back to Fox and not worrying about owning all of Batman.

I updated the original post with the details of what we know at the moment
concerning this Batman Television Series release.

I am surprised Warner did not send out a press release last night.

My opinion....

This is an expensive "box of junk."

Of course, one man's junk is another's treasure.

Had Warner made available an additional simpler set with just the
shows, this would have been a no-brainer. It would have been much
cheaper, as well.

It is what it is, but I am waiting for the simpler release that will certainly
be made available within a year.

Pretty weak extras for that price. I mean seriously. No audio commentaries? No long documentary?Well, better wait for the sales then.

I am not confident that I know what the extras will be other than the TOPPs reproduction cards and the Hot Wheels car. I also don't feel qualified to judge whether the blu-ray set is likely to be overcompressed. I assume that if they were BR-50s then no one would think that there would be an issue. However, what really bugged me was the lack of a press release or more definitive information. I came home last night excited to find out all of the details, and I even checked various sites to see if anything reliable showed up, and nada. When I did get to bed, I had trouble sleeping. Warner did tweet that the set would be uncut and we got a look at the blu-ray box, but that's about it.

I agree--although it was encouraging to hear that the episodes will be uncut and include all bumpers.
Still...

I will say that the case for the first season set looks really cool. That's the best artwork I've seen.

Personally, I like the season 1 box art the best of the three. The list of extras for the complete series set seem week. Maybe I'll just go with the season 1 set and get the other two seasons as they're released. We'll see come November.
