You could remove the tweeter. Sometimes there is enough room between the cone and spider to press outward.

She can pay off the other $5 over the next year at 24% APR.

I have a niece in middle school that I'm grooming to be a loan shark. After explaining that she can make more money when the "customer" only pays the vig, her eyes lit up. :)

I wouldn't heat it up. I'd just replace it. Use the old one as a fridge magnet LOL. I have a bunch of old drivers laying around in a box from various builds/upgrades.

I have a 22 pound neodymium magnet from a 15" sub that requires a pry bar to remove it from anything it sticks to. Getting it loose from the pry bar requires me standing on it and pulling the pry bar off.

$75 for a high end tweeter isn't bad. I've seen them in the hundreds.

As far as what to replace, do they offer the tweeter only? If not, then it is probably glued into the assembly.

I'd almost buy two so they are both fresh. Keep the original good one as a spare. But...how old are these?

And yeah, that looks like a "made to not take apart" assembly.

I noticed the 685 s2 uses the double dome tweeter from the CM series for extended high frequencies, any idea if the nautilus tube would work from the CM5 or would the cross over be different?

Those are all questions for B&W. No way to answer without taking about the crossover or at least seeing the schematics side by side.

You won't need YouTube. It should take 2 minutes with a power screwdriver. 5 with a regular.

I found you could pull the nautilus tube strait out, but I dont know if the terminals are soldered or if there is clips. I have no idea if I have to remove the woofer to get to it.
