Can someone tell if my old Denon avr-5700 can switch a component HDTV signal. I want to buy a new receiver but I'd like to wait for a receiver that will switch HDMI and DVI.

Thanks.

The Denon 5700 has about 27mhz bandwidth on it component switching. You could try to see what its like with HD.
With DTV it should not be a problem.
You may need to wire direct to the display for HD.
Remember when you upgrade the AVR, try to find one that has about the same quality power supply, Denon went for broke with the AVR-5700 and placed a very capable & powerful 1.2KVa power plant in that unit.

I can only state my 4802 Denon at 50mhz bandwidth seems great switching my HD sources on Component Video.
