aspect ratio settings (1 Viewer)

i got my x1 today and i began my tweaking and i ran across the aspect ratio setting. the quick and dirty, i wasnt very excited about the 16:9 setting. to be fair i should say that i was just using my laptop as a dvd player so i didnt get a chance to set my dvd player to 16:9 mode.

with that said, i toggled between 4:3 and 16:9 mode and i almost prefer 4:3 mode. the picture in 16:9 is much smaller than in 4:3. I expected this to some degree since i have been displaying widescreen dvds on my 4:3 rptv but for some reason it seemed smaller on the x1. 16:9 mode shrunk the image quite a bit and streched the picture out a lot, and there didnt seem to be noticealbe gain in picture area on the edges. is this typical?

i am hoping that it is because im using a computer. my mount hasnt come yet and my screen is backordered so who know when i can set everything up properly. im dying to get things set up and use this thing!! with break next week this would have been the perfect time to.
