Is that second feature on the Wild Geese disc the sequel or a TV movie? If it's the sequel, this release just got a whole lot better. Don't remember it being called "Code Name: Wild Geese', just "Wild Geese II". I also remember it being very entertaining.

"Wild Geese II" was to have starred Richard Burton -- sadly he passed away just before production began and Edward Fox took his role. Also starring Laurence Olivier as Rudolf Hess -- the plot was to get him out of Spandau prison -- compared to the original, this 1985 release moved like an advancing sand dune.
"Codename: Wild Geese" was a 1984 ripoff of "The Wild Geese" -- no masterpiece, but plenty of action and a great cast -- Lewis Collins, Lee Van Cleef, Klaus Kinski and Ernest Borgnine in the Stewart Granger role.

I'm sorry but the cover art for "The Wild Geese" bluray is absolutely awful, compared to the great original poster and key art used in advertising the movie back in 1978.

Hi, Arrow are a real hit-and-miss company. Some of their releases, have been excellent. Some have been mediocre, and several have been full of screw-up's that no one in their right mind should have allowed to go for pressing, let alone to make it onto retail store shelves. (THE BEYOND, for example?!) I have a real love-hate relationship with Arrow. Whoever allowed TENEBRAE to be released in the manner it was, with the hideously bad picture, I'll never know. Their DEEP RED / PROFONDO ROSSO DVD and Blu-Ray release had a problem with the film jumping, part-way through. The ZOMBIE FLESH-EATERS Steelbook artwork looked like a two-year-old had drawn it, and is - to be frank - an unmitigated embarrasment, and an insult to the film, and to the adults purchasing the item. However, some of their releases are pretty good. I just wish they would mature as a company. Their forum is another issue altogether. Join up, and praise them and their releaes, and you'll find yourself welcomed with open arms. Dare to criticise or complain, and they jettison you without warning, and permanently. No notices. No "don't do that again". Just a swift "You've been banned permanently!". It's a real shame that a company that claims to want to offer the best versions of cult horror and exploitation films can release stuff in such a haphazard manner. One of their newest releases, is BAISE-MOI. The irony being, this film won't get passed uncut by the British Board of Film Classification, due to the film containing a scene of hardcore pornography, and another contentious scene of sexual violence, involving a gun being inserted up someone's behind, and the trigger being pulled. Why they don't select films that WILL get passed uncut, I'll never quite fathom. It's almost like they want people to hate them and their products. Pooch

I'll always be indebted to them for their UK boxset of Russ Meyer movies -- for obvious reasons....

Sorry, posted this in another thread; this is clearly the right place -

Arrow fans will be interested in this excellent interview with restoration doyen James White.

And from their latest press release: "...Following Obsession and Blow Out, DRESSED TO KILL is the third film in Arrow Video’s “De Palma Collection”. Restored Blu-ray editions of Sisters, Phantom Of The Paradise and The Fury will follow in 2013/14..."

I would love it if they got their hands on Suspiria and could go back to the original camera negatives the way they did for Zombie Flesh Eaters.

Does anybody know if Arrow are considering the other Vincent Price/Roger Corman titles beyond their upcoming "Fall of the House of Usher"? I'm hoping specifically for "The Haunted Palace", "Pit and the Pendulum" and "Tomb of Ligeia".

I was interested to see that Runaway Train is supposed to be released this month. I'm kinda surprised this wouldn't be popular enough to also get a North American BD release...

Arrow's THE FURY is a peach - looks beautiful, sounds great. A package that impresses on every front.

BTW, there's information on the release on this page by lyris1 aka David Mackenzie who performed the encode.
