Are there receivers besides Denon which have 6.1 DTS discrete capability? (1 Viewer)

Just wondering. I think it was Denon that first came out with receivers with DTS 6.1 discrete (not matrixed) capability. I think the model numbers were the 3801? and 5800 or 5801?.

Have there been other companies that have manufactured these kind of receivers? Was Denon the first?

Thank you.

Pioneer, Kenwood and Yamaha also make receivers that include DTS-ES Discrete 6.1 processing.

Adam or anyone:

Which Yamaha model does 6.1 ES discrete? I was not aware that Yamaha had gotten into the ballgame.

Thank you.

All of this year's Yamaha models (listed in this thread) include DTS-ES Discrete 6.1 and Pro Logic 2. If you have an RX-V1 this can also be upgraded to include DTS-ES Discrete 6.1 (requires to unit to be returned to Japan).

If you are going to jump on a YAMI wait 10 secs for the 3200 to come out. Nice niche in the line up of 898/3802/SonyDA5ES/2200/3200/4802/989//
All of those are excellent choices. I compared them all and would have been happy with any of them.
Bought a 3802:D :D :D :D
The more you pay the more you get! The 3802 for $770 delivered was about what I can afford at the moment. The 898 was at the top of my list for Christmas.
The Sony has some very unique features that can't be ignored, plus a 5 year warranty. Geo and others have one and swear by it.:emoji_thumbsup:

Sherwood have 2 recievers coming out in may which both have 100 watts X 6 channels and decode all three 6 channel formats (DDEX, DTS ES matrix and discrete)...
GET THIS:
MSRP? $299 and $399 respectively!!!
Yamaha is introducing the RX-V630 ($499MSRP) and RX-V730 ($599MSRP)which also decode all current 6.1 channel formats +DPL2 and DTS Neo:6 (both sherwoods do this as well)
All Yamaha's from the RX-V1200/HTR 5490 twins on up also have at least 6 channels of amplification and do all this decoding, not to mention that the RX-V 430 ($299) and 530 ($399) also decode DDEX and both versions of DTS ES but you have to add one external amp, ala the HK AVR520...
Pioneer is also introducing the VSX-D811S ($475MSRP) in april as well..
2002: the year of affordable 6 channel recievers :D
