Anyone running an older ReplayTV w/o a phone line? (1 Viewer)

I moved into a new place a couple weeks ago, and for the most part really like it - I'm renting a house as opposed to an apartment, there's room for everything, a view of the river, etc. Since I don't use the phone very often (and have a mobile phone), I'm considering dropping my local phone service. The only hitch is that I've got an older model Replay (3060, I think) that can only download program information via a phone line. I don't quite think the program information is worth the $20+/month that my phone bill would run.

A little Googling found this, but that looks far more involved that I want to get. Does anybody know of a more straightforward way to do this, or should I be looking at getting a newer model?
