Any way to lock MP3 tags?

    Is there any way to enter the MP3 tags (V1 and V2), and then 'lock' them so they cannot be edited again?

    On your PC? Set the File to read only, or remove write permission from users you don't want to edit it, depending on your OS of choice.
    For distribution? Hell no. There are probably 'do not edit this' bits you can set, but those are wholly dependant on the client programs honoring them.

    Even if there were "do not edit this" bits, its just a matter of writing a simple program to turns these bits on and off (a C program that would take 15 minutes to write).
