Any Recommendations for Online Stock Broker? (1 Viewer)

Any opinions re: Datek, Ameritrade, Etrade, Schwab, etc.?
I see that CSFB Direct and TD Waterhouse are offering $100 for new accounts. Datek is offering 15 free trades.
I'm especially interested in stories about your ability to make a trade during heavy volume periods. Thanks for any input.

I use http://www.scottrade.com They seem to be the cheapest when I was looking for an online broker.

I'm gonna bump this up instead of starting a new thread.

Does anybody have any good or bad comments about Fidelity.com? I am wanting to rollover my wife's 401(k) into a rollover IRA and it seems logical to use them since both of our 401(k) plans are through Fidelity. I am also considering opening a brokerage account with them as well.

I've been with TDWaterhouse since late '97, and I've always been satisfied. Trade prices have gone up a bit, but the service has always been decent. There were a few VERY heavy trading days in '98 that I couldn't get a trade through online, but other than that- smooth sailing.
