I'm thinking of purchasing this 50' inch set or the new Panny 51. Which brand should I go with ?

well, I'm assuming know one has even bothered purchasing this toshiba unit. Plus I'm hearing so many problems with toshiba that I might just get the Panny. Thanks anyway.

try the toshiba forum on www.hometheaterspot.com for more info on this set. It's very nice and highly regarded save for a few issues. The new sony sets are getting alot of raves lately as well.
as for the panny- I've heard that they're great after being fully tweaked and ISF'd. The only problem I have with the panny is the just mode is terrible for stretching NTSC programming. Tosh and Sony have much better modes for viewing 4:3 material in my opinion.
check out the spot for boards and info on all brands.
    good luck.
PS- you really need to be more patient. someone will eventually answer your post if you don't wait by the computer.

Based on my own experience with Toshiba xxH71, I would go with the Toshiba.

It is a good set for the money.

You might want to do a search here under both the Panny and Toshiba. You should find some useful info.
