As I had posted in another thread, I did an A-B comparison of the new Blu-ray of "McLINTOCK!" to the HD streaming version on Netflix. The Netflix version has a much more solid picture with greater detail. The Blu-ray has a lot more "noise" in the picture, less detail and is less film-like when projected onto a large screen. It is very obvious that the Blu-ray doesn't have the image quality of the HD stream. While it may be from the same source element, something happened downstream that threw a wrench into the works.
And again, the Blu-ray isn't bad, it's just looks more like compressed video and is a couple of rungs below what's on Netflix or what's been shown on HD broadcasts.
