Actually, you can get BEGINNING OF THE END on Region 1 right now -- the MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000 DVD from Rhino Home Video that mocks that particular giant grasshopper movie also includes the normal version of the film as an extra, free of edits and wisecracking robot puppets. Not an especially pristine print of the film, but it does the job well enough.
