It's that time of year again. As we all head off to Christmas with our families and friends, it's time to see what was under the tree. I ended up buying a lot for myself. My wife bought herself a dog, so I got to spend the equivilant on DVDs. I'm only about half done, but so far I have used it to catch up on titles I've missed over the years.

Alien Quadrilogy
All the President's Men
Cleopatra
The Mummy (1959)
Dave Matthews Band Central Park Concert
JFK
The Adventures of Robin Hood
Predator
Looney Tunes Golden Collection - mostly for me :)
Alias Season 2
Scooby Doo Scariest Mysteries (for the kids)

Also bought the soundtracks for
Jaws
The Last Samurai
Gladiator

We'll see what turns up at my in-laws and parents houses.

Hope everyone has a merry, healthy, and disc filled Christmas.

Christmas Day addition:

Seabiscuit
The French Connection 5 Star
Speed 5 Star
Spartacus: Criterion Collection
Band of Brothers

And $150 in Best Buy gift cards, so there will be more to come.
My wife also unwrapped her iPod I bought her. She loves it. We spent the entire trip to my parent's house taking turns picking songs for us to listen to.

As far as DVDs go, I got the bulk of my must-wants early on in the weeks leading up to Christmas:

- The Adventures of Indiana Jones
- X2: X-Men United
- Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines
- The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers Extended Version
- Veggie Tales: The Toy That Saved Christmas
- Veggie Tales: The Star of Christmas
- Finding Nemo

So what am I hoping for in terms of DVDs under the tree?

- Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Seasons 4-7
- MASH Seasons 4 and 5
- Alien Quadrilogy

And also the Beatles' Let It Be...Naked CD :)

My wife is gonna get Seabiscuit. :D

I'm kinda hoping for the "universal present" that is greenbacks. Most of what I want at this point is on the pre-order lists.

I just feel sorry for this poor guy

I bought my wife Babylon 5 Season 3, as well as the Seasons 4 and 5 of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. She doesn't read this forum so I think I'm safe.

Picked up Escape from New York this past Saturday for myself when I bought Freaky Friday for my sister-in-law (she's 15) and X2 for my brother-in-law.

Same here--I tend to get them the week they come out since it's cheaper anyway. Plus, my wife claims she doesn't know what to look for on the back to make sure she gets the widescreen versions. Basically, I think she just hates going into Best Buy and Circuit City (the closest retailers to the house).

I think the in-laws are getting me the Simpsons Season 1 from Best Buy's day-after-Thanksgiving-sale. For $12 (I think that's what it was), how could you not?!

I do that all year, and then I use Christmas to catch up on what I've missed in the past. Most of what I've bought this Christmas were catalog titles, or like Looney Tunes, something I wanted to save for my sons.

well for Christmas I (immediate family) I got:

Adventures of Indiana Jones - look forward to taking a day and watching all three with my nine year old sister who's not seen any of these [is reminded still needs to do this with SW OT and BTTF]
Two Towers Extended Edition - caught this in theatres and think the theatrical cut is a stronger film, though many of the deleted scenes are interesting, only about a third of them make the film stronger. Mainly looking forward to a day with the docs, and maybe a marathon of the two EEs before a second/third screening of ROTK
Lion King SE - we had so much fun last year watching Beauty and the Beast after christmas, I can't wait to settle down and finally experience the HT mix :D

Christmas II (grandma's)
pending

hopefully I'll see Pirates and Nemo from this christmas, or maybe even the simpsons season one bargain, though that's a long shot--depends if walmart had it stocked and price matched that morning.

So far:
Jay and Silent Bob strike back
Chasing Amy

I have no idea why they got those for me. I do enjoy J&SB, but Chasing Amy was alright... I dont think i've ever mentioned to the people who gave me these that I liked Chasing Amy, let alone Kevin Smith...
