Who needs ghosts and vampires this Halloween when you can have giant ants and killer zombies?! The Landmark Loew's Jersey Theatre celebrates the season of fright with two classic sci-fi / horror films, each of which helped to define their genre for their times.

    Saturday, October 30 at 5 PM: "Them!" (1954 -- 93 mins.)
Starring James Whitmore, Edmond Gwenn, Joan Weldon & James Arness
Nuclear tests result in the appearance of huge mutant ants who menace cities in the American southwest as a team of scientists and the Army search for a way to stop them.

Saturday, October 30 at 8 PM: "Night of the Living Dead" (1968 - 90 mins.)
Directed By George Romero. Starring Judith O'Dea, Russ Streiner
When unexpected radiation raises the dead, a group of average Americans has to come together to battle flesh-eating zombies in George A. Romero's landmark cheapie horror film.

Also, on Sunday, October 31 at 2 PM: The Fourth Annual Halloween Show & Costume Contest for Kids, sponsored by the City of Jersey City, co-sponsored by FOL. Live stage entertainment plus prizes for the best boy's and best girl's costumes in three age groups: 5 to 8, 9 to 12, 13 to 16. Free admission.
