A lot of angry posts on Amazon forums though. I tend to agree with the reasoned posters who think that a promotion designed to leave the vast majority of customers disappointed was probably not the greatest idea.

Think about it -- only 500 of each item (with a couple of exceptions), and how many thousands (possibly even millions) of people probably voted? It was like a lottery.
