Deepdiscount.com has Alice season one for only 25.78. This is a more reasonable price when compared to 35.00. I was just waiting for the price to come down. I did not have to wait too long at all.

Or if they ever do more seasons of RHODA, we can sing the theme sing, thusly:
    "La la la LAH la
    La la la LAH.
    La la la LAH la
    La la la la..."

But what is going on with Rhoda S5 anyways? Is it because of Fox wanting to charge a lot of money for the rights to Shout or whomever wants to distribute it or is it the quality of the episodes, condition-wise that is, or what? Just wondering as I would like to see this get released one day.

It was because Fox stopped licensing to Shout that the final season of "Rhoda" was never released.

I am hoping possibly this show will get unstalled on Warner Archive. Esp since it is WB Archive is would be easier to sell the show once they hit more #'s on the previously released seasons.

I still have hope we could see more seasons.

I may pick up the first 4 seasons for a friend if a WB Archive sale hits soon. Hoping for one this holiday weekend.

I think it could be that sales aren't as hot as they hoped for but I'd hope they are steady as far as WB Archive TV shows go. I appreciate the replicated (pressed) discs as each season gets released.

I really would like to see a couple more seasons come out. I know many miss FLO but the series still keep moving along and it was still enjoyable.

When asked recently, their reps have stated that they would like to release more seasons, but "there are issues" they are ironing out. They didn't state whether it was music licensing or video quality.

Another horrible coincidence. These happen more than I can say!!!

I was just talking to a co-worker 2 hours ago about the movie the show was based on. We were talking about elton john's Daniel (I played the Wilson Phillips version) and she said it meant a lot to her since she lost her brother at a young age and some lyrics remind of that always. I told her the song was used in the movie and that's what it reminded me of. I absolutely hadn't heard about the death until now. She was funny. Especially remember the one with George Burns and she thinks George was really really God. If there is a God we would be so lucky. And Beth would make the perfect bumbling Angel. :*)

Alice is one of the shows I'm waiting on a complete set of some sort, even if they group up the current released seasons. Such a great show. She was a highlight.

Hopefully WAC can eventually resolve the various issues currently preventing the remainder of the series from coming out.

In the meantime, you may already be aware but a few years ago WAC released a 1979 TV movie You Can't Take it with You (starring Jean Stapleton and Art Carney) which co-stars Beth as well as Polly Holliday (along with other TV actors of the era). I bought it during a sale last year and it was a nice chance to see some TV faves in different roles.

Definitely, Alice has one of my favorite Christmas episodes too. The one where they get stuck in the truck.

I looked at the trailer for that. I wishlisted it. what a cast! Thanks for bringing that one. I wish good tv movies like that one looks. I'm a huge fan of stuff that looks just like that.

    RIP

Vera was probably my favourite character on the show and Ms Howland played her perfectly.
