AC/DC coming to SACD...? (1 Viewer)

There was an article in Business Week that briefly disussed Sony signing AC/DC. While that isn't a big deal, it turns out what was unique to this deal is Sony gets the rights to all of AC/DCs catalog from Warner.

Sony is going to re-master all the albums and go so far as to issue them on vinyl.

High resolution audio was mentioned, and while not SACD specifically, I can't see Sony NOT doing these.

Like you, I was excited at the news and the potential for AC/DC to get some SACD releases. I'm sure Back In Black and some of the other more popular albums will be released on SACD but I'll be shocked if all of the catalog, at least initially, gets released as SACD. Fly On The Wall won't be a high resolution release I'll be rushing to buy anytime soon.

I was also pleasantly surprised to read about the older concert they will be releasing on DVD. Hopefully, more of these will surface!

I actually liked some of Fly On The Wall. At least the two tracks that ended up on the Who Made Who CD.

Of course I hear this news of new remasters after recently rebuying the Atlantic remasters of Highway To Hell, Back In Black, and Flick of the Switch. Oh well, it's only money...

My bet is we see vinyl and Super Audio. These are classic, high selling catalog titles.
My local station 96 rock plays Jingle Hells Bells during the Holiday season. I crack up every time I hear it.

Thanks for reporting this. I am looking forward to remastered AC/DC CDs, but I would love to see Back in Black come out on SACD.

That's just the greatest news after purchasing all their cds. I will buy their new album though, I don't care that Brian's voice isn't like it used to be, they still rock.
