A friend of mine was recently found dead in his apartment at age 28. He had no health problems, was careful about what he ate, did not do drugs or smoke, yet the initial autopsy was inconclusive. He is going to be cremated, but not before they do more tests.

How could this have happened? I ask this out of curiosity and shock.

Sorry to hear this.

It's not a popular fact, but anyone can die with no warning. Things like Aneurysms or embolisms can kill in an instant, and can even be more common in very healthy, active people.

That's why you have to take advantage of every day. Twenty-eight's too young to die:frowning:

Indeed. Life is a blessing and should be treated as such.

Sorry for your loss, Matthew.

There are so many things it could have been.

Matthew - I don't have any amazing words to take away your pain and your friend's family's loss. Not sure why bad things happen to good people... Will keep everyone in my family's thoughts and prayers.

I am standing by the seashore
A ship at my side,
Spreads her white sails in the morning breeze and heads for the blue ocean
She is an object of beauty and strength
And I stand and watch her
Until at length she hangs like a tiny speck of a white cloud
Just where the sea and sky
Come down to mingle with each other
And then someone at my side says
"There, she's gone"

Gone where?

Gone from my side, that is all
She is just as large in mast and hull and spar
And just as able to bear her load of living freight to the
Place of her destination
As she was when she left my side,
Her diminished size is in me, not in her!

And just at the moment when someone at my side side says
"There she's gone."
There are other eyes watching her coming
And ready to take up the glad shout
"There, she's coming."

Really sorry to read this. 28 is way too young to die.

Like the other posters said, it could have been anything. The body is very amazing. Can withstand things we cannot possibly imagine but also extremely fragile at the same time.
