I'm a Walking Dead fan, but not a cable fan.

I wait until the series is offered via Blu-ray, as the quality jump is extreme.

Viewing a sampling of Season Five via 4k, takes the series into another dimension, especially projected and with 7.1 audio.

As far as I'm aware, The Walking Dead is a bit of an anomaly in today's world of production, as it's still shooting 16mm.

Whether that's what sets the Blu-rays apart from some others, as it has a distinct and different appearance, I don't know, but Anchor Bay's presentation on Blu-ray is nothing short of magnificent.

Worth the wait vs. broadcast?

I believe so.

Worth the price of admission?

At thirty bucks on Amazon.

Absolutely.

I have a fairly basic TV package, so I have to wait for the Blu-ray release of The Walking Dead (same with Game Of Thrones), a great, if grim show. The pre-order price in the UK works out around $50, so you lot are getting this really cheap, I'm hoping the price nudges down a bit when it's released here.
