I remember laughing out loud in the theater when I heard that song start playing.
I just saw that the IFC Center in NYC will be running a 35mm print of this over the weekend -- I've never actually seen this movie, so I may check it out.
Looked at the captures on blu ray com, and shocking the captures should be rated 18 shockingly poor DNR looks waxy like a plastic cheap Q magazine.
I'll keep the DVD region 2 I see no point wasting money. I think, studios think that it should be digital, no let me start again. People think or get in their head that digital means smooth and pure.I'm fed up of the film studios abusing films to make a fast few million on our expense out of our pockets.
Lmao What of the HD-DVD of CAT PEOPLE? I seen plenty purring on eBay and been so patient like the cat would be at staring. I like the look of the HD-DVD red cover that goes smoothly with some of the red artwork on the over.
The bluray blue did you all know that blue is an unwelcoming colour and that red is warm welcoming colour.
Still I have the region 2 DVD couldn't be worst and image colours brightness look spot on as I seen far, far worst on chumps sat on their asses in front of computers and batching films with boasted contrast/brightness so that the natural film look likes like a train wreck on 6pm news.
I'll take the HD-DVD when I get around to and Dolby TrueHD.
Guess if I had the HD-DVD the sound levels will be a bit more higher as it sounds soft level not as if I can't hear soft sounds and loud sounds like when the prostitute getting founded by the leopard brush his tail against her leg then suddenly freaks out, lol.
I gather the mix itself will more less the same as the DVD only levels boasted up, But then I can just now raised fader up the Sony SDDS to 6.1db lowered the LCR HF horns down a few db so get some bass mid feel from the stage channels.
The stereo like surrounds are faint at times and one can always boast level up the surrounds touch so they blend in with stage channels and don't overwhelm, otherwise would be distracting with middle range to high end. I can trim the HF on the surrounds down and EQ between or warm up the low end with bass control to make it Or use the separate fader controls for the 10 zone surrounds max but at present 8.
Now playing DVD region 2, CAT PEOPLE (1982) Dolby Stereo Digital 5.1 / Lucasfilm Ltd THX Sound System / JBL 49 speakers.
Must have watched the film some +50 times or lost count? Watched it twice on VHS rental around early 1983 with Flash Gordon, huh both Universal.
Watch out of the scene where Empire Strikes Back bubble gum. 25c lol.
Chapter 11, sounds immersive with frogs crocking and crickets chirping away and distant hooting of owls and other life around the plantation forest and snakes that sliver around tree branch and discretely secrete track on the surrounds that gradually grows louder and louder intensify the surrounds.
Chapter 11, 1:09:21 when police and all go looking for the leopard there's a sound of that bird in forest from another Universal film of the same year, E.T.
1:10:16 I like the conversation in the truck and the voices have sight short echo behind the dialouge. Wonder if its production or some good ADR.
A bit of halo around the DVD on the Sony CRT 28".
Now that big cat is pissed. Look but don't touch.
I like the look in Natasha's eyes.
Cat transformation 80% complete
Cool song for the end credits "Putting out fire with gasoline"
