Jim Mickle's Stake Land is a simple tale of survivors seeking the promised land. The only thing in the way are nasty vampires and the religious uber-right.
It's a tight little B production, with Larry Fessenden as one of the producers.
The cast is made up of mostly lesser known actors, along with some names, such as Danielle Harris and Kelly McGillis, who obviously didn't show up for a paycheck, as the entire budget is noted on imdb as c. 650k
I picked up the e one Blu-ray as a Canadian import, so both French and English versions are available.
An interesting way to spend 98 minutes, to see how much can end up on the screen for a relatively small investment.
The Blu-ray, as the film was shot with a Red One in 4k, and finished as a 2k DI, looks as it should.
