Bingo. The Elvis recording session was three-channel for mixing purposes, not for stereo.

A typical three-channel recording for mixing purposes:

    1. Vocal
    2. Guitar
    3. Background vocals, handclap overdubs

This was not recorded for stereo.

Fox started releasing mono optical during 1956. Films such as Teenage Rebel, the Girl Cant Help It, Oh Men Oh Women.

There are also some Fox scoe stereo films, where the stereo is missing such as
    three Faces of Eve,
Hemingways Adventures of a Young Man.

While the Elvis Love Me Tender has rediscovered Multitrack, I doubt tht Fox used them for a stereo remix. they usually don't

However, Fox (for laserdisc) did have me use multi channel recordings of Glenn Miller and company to remix Orchestra Wives and Sun Valley Serenade.

Sorry, The Jordanaires didn´t appear. Only the Ken Darby Trio in the songs of the film.
