Thinking about the Onkyo 898 receiver, but am trying to understand the 5.1/6.1/7.1 setups. Are these different "options" in the setup menu? If I initially only have 5 speakers & sub, & later want to add another rear speaker-Is this possible? How do I hook up the 6th speaker, which would be in the center of the 2 surrond speakers.

Yes. You can hook up only 5.1 speakers. I am not familiar with the 898, but in the menu on my Marantz SR6200, I can turn off the 6th channel.
