If anyone is interested in 4K movies. (or just a very beautiful 2K or 1080p movie)
TimeScapes.
Just bought the Blue-ray version, and it looks A-ma-zing!
The size is a little disturbing though 4096 x 2304, 140Gb, 12-bit, hard drive
TimeScapes

Interesting.
Does anyone have a 4K TV yet? I didnt think they were available.
Even if you have a 4K TV, what do you need to play a 4K movie? Blu-Ray is only 1/4 of that.
Personally, I would love to see/get one.

Tom Lowe (producer) made that choice, and IMO made this movie future proof.
Also the fact that a large portion of the film is made with a Canon 5D II,
- and the images are 5616 x 3744 (21.0 MP) so much larger than needed.
But if anyone has 2K resolution, try it in comparison with the 1080p version. (mind there is youtube compression)
4K demo:
I think the first 4k projectors came out in 2008, the first monitors in 2010.
Personally, i feel 4K is overkill for your home. I feel cinema's & other large screen environments can however benefit from this.
BUT,
It all comes down to content & quality.
TimeScapes is one of the first movies where i feel the overall quality is beautiful & cristal clear on my 47" TV.
(in the past, maybe one or 2 nature documentaries.)
Pretty much all Blue-Ray film i have bought so far (27 so far) look "fine"
( I always have this feeling that they just sold me a DVD with added contrast & sharpness filter & mostly lots of noise! )
