    Over at zaptoit.com they quote one of the producers of the show saying the 3rd season starts 2 1/2 years after the end of season 2

    Penny Johnson Jerald, who starred as manipulative Sherry Palmer on the first two seasons of Fox's "24," has not been signed for year three. However it is possible she'll return as a guest star, according to Daily Variety.

    They should start the season with Kim moving away or something. Then, she gets her screentime and its over.

    Jeff - I don't think there is any way anyone could say with absolute certainty what it was that Palmer got hit with at the end of season 2. Just because it looks like something doesn't mean that that is what the writers intended it to be. Now, having said that, I personally do think that Palmer will be alive for season 3.

    I think the idea of Season 3 starting out with the next round of elections is a good idea. They could try to make Palmer lose the election by having some huge crisis take place and try to make him fail to stop it.

    Were the hands blistered because the script mentioned the use of a genuine blister agent, or because someone thought, "We need to show hand-to-hand contact, blisters would look cool"?

    Or how about start the season with Kim dead, and Jack asleep. Jack keeps having the same recurring dream (nightmare?) of Kim running too slowly away from the mountain lion. [​IMG]

    Kim is dead, murdered by Jack's new enemies, and we keep getting slow motion replays of her pain and suffering?

    FORD TO PRESENT COMMERCIAL-FREE PREMIERE OF AWARD-WINNING SERIES '24' TUESDAY, OCT. 28, ON FOX

    FOX and Ford to Partner on '24' Marketing Campaign -- Highlights Include Special CD-ROM Magazine Insert and Premiere Episode Trailer in Movie Theaters


    The Ford Division of the Ford Motor Company will again sponsor the season premiere of the award-winning and critically acclaimed series 24, it was announced today by Gail Berman, President, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company and Rich Stoddart, Marketing Communications Manager, Ford Division. The third season premiere episode of 24 will be presented with no commercial interruption Tuesday, Oct. 28 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
    "This will mark the second season Ford has brought a commercial-free premiere of '24' to a very appreciative FOX audience," said Ms. Berman. "From our partnership on the hit series 'American Idol,' to our continued joint marketing effort on behalf of '24,' FOX and Ford have continually upped the ante on inspired integrated marketing by creating imaginative ways to promote both our shows and their product."
    Roberta Mell, FOX executive Vice President of Marketing, echoed Berman's sentiments while praising Ford's aggressive promotion. "Ford has demonstrated a unique ability to expand the boundaries of product integration in television via their relationship with FOX," said Mell. "Their multi-platform approach to marketing the partnership will place both '24' and Ford top-of-mind with viewers/consumers for almost two months prior to the series' third season premiere October 28."

    "We continue to look for inventive ways to showcase the Ford brand," said Mr. Stoddart. "Working with FOX to expand last year's success with '24' will do just that."
    Last year's six-minute vignette, which ran at the top and bottom of the premiere episode in two three-minute segments, was one of the most recalled TV spots of the year according to Intermedia Advertising Group, a research company that monitors the effectiveness of television advertising. Ford will be launching the next generation F-150 in the early fall and it's expected to take a starring role in the piece that is created for 24. Mr. Stoddart also added, "It's natural to sponsor '24' in this manner as FOX has set a new standard in scripted drama with '24' and we will set a new standard with the all-new F-150. This will be the best pick-up truck ever."
    Here are highlights of the Ford sponsorship of 24 in addition to commercial-free episode airings:
    * A four-minute trailer previewing the third season premiere episode will be presented during FOX's airing of the smash-hit feature film "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" Sunday, Sept. 7 (7:30-10:00 PM ET/PT). Viewers will be alerted to this sneak peek during that day's NFL ON FOX show (8:00-10:00 AM ET/PT) and via cell phone messaging to members of FOX ZONE.
    * A two-minute edited version of the trailer will play in 2,400 movie theaters across
    the country from Oct. 3–30.
    * Advertisements and a special CD-ROM will be inserted into issues of ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY and PEOPLE. This disc will include the four-minute trailer as well as Ford commercials and exclusive 24 bonus material.
    * A co-branded site on fox.com will include a national sweepstakes.
    * A special insert promoting season three of 24 will be included in season two DVDs, which go on sale September 9.

    24 is a production of Real Time Productions and Imagine Television in associated with 20th Century Fox Television. Joel Surnow, Robert Cochran, Brian Grazer and Howard Gordon are the executive producers.
