I want to thank Peter Staddon for the "heads-up" on Fox's Co-chairman wanting to get ZORBA, THE GREEK out this year. And I'd like to second Mark Pytel's motion for the release of WHO IS HARRY KELLERMAN . . . THINGS ABOUT ME.
Other Fox films I'm waiting for are:
THE FLIM-FLAM MAN (1967)
THE WEDDING BANQUET (1993)
HARRY AND TONTO (1974)
Robert Altman's THE WEDDING
and
THE GUNFIGHTER with Gregory Peck
I wonder if there's any chance some of these might be among those licensed out to Criterion? or Anchor Bay?

In my above post, I should've realized that with a title as common as "Warriors", there'd be more than one; I was referring to the Errol Flynn swashbuckler that Fox released on Playhouse.

Benn,
Something tells me that "The Gunfighter" will be released later this year.

LAURA What in the world has happened with this title. The last thing I thought I'd be doing in 2004 is still wondering about this title. I thought I'd be done ranting about wanting this on DVD after last November.

My confusion over Silver Streak not being available only increased when I recently learned that it was the 2nd highest grossing comedy of that year (behind Smokey and the Bandit) and the 7th highest grossing film overall!

To put it in perspective, it made more money that year than Close Encounters!

I just watched my new release of PLANET OF THE APES:SE last night. It was really great. So when can we expect:

BENEATH THE PLANET OF THE APES:SE

Does anyone know if Fox has the rights to the early 80's slasher film NIGHT SCHOOL? Key Video released it on VHS, as did CBS/Fox at one time, but Warner Bros. also released a version somewhere down the line.

Is this film still with Fox? If so, it'd make a great companion release with Terror Train this fall (if TT does get released finally).

I'd like to see 20th Century Fox release the following two titles:

The Bravados (1958) w/Gregory Peck in anamorphic widescreen

The Amateur(1981) w/John Savage (critics don't rate this one very high, but it "hooks you", or at least it hooked me.)

I second Dorian's suggestion of THE OTHER. Very lyrical film in some parts (what you'd expect from Robert Mulligan) and very weird and frightening in others (what you would NOT expect from Robert Mulligan), with a terrific score by Jerry Goldsmith. based on the first novel by ex-actor Thomas Tryon. Long overdue on a format better than VHS. What a great Halloween release, along with THE INNOCENTS and one or two others, since Fox did not have a Halloween promotion last year.

Silly me, I forgot, until now. VIVA ZAPATA (1954) with M. Brando and A. Quinn. It's about the revolutionary Mexican leader Emanuel Zapata.
Anyone else out there familiar with it?
