I'm selling off my immaculate collection of DVDs very soon in one large lump. I'll have the list tomorrow, but was wondering what collections go for usually in this range. It's varied from sets like the 5 disc set of Aliens, criterion, and no cheesy bargain basement movies.
Any input would be great so I can get this rolling. I'll be a father in November and my priorities have changed.. :)

I think $8-$10 a disc is about the going rate for large collections on EBay, regardless of titles.
I recommend you pull the Criterion titles and box sets and sell them separately (boy, that's probably gonna piss some buyers off!). Otherwise, they'll get water-leveled with the rest of the DVDs and you won't get anywhere near their actual value.
Glad to see you're putting baby first. Well done!

Leaving the good ones in is what will make them bring $8-$10 each for the lot. Take out the good ones and your probably looking at $7-$9.

I've never really seen many huge collections sell all at once on the forum. Unless it is an extremly great deal. My last collection I sold on eBay included a whole mess of good titles like the T2 Ultimate with the Tin, The Adam Sandler Collection and a whole mess of other good titles. I was pissed when I only made like $9 a disc shipped on the whole lot.
You're best bet would be to sell the boxes and Criterions as was stated previously and also posting a list on the forum and have set prices for each title including shipping. After a week or two, throw the rejects as a lot or however you want to do it on eBay.
That's my suggestion

Another thing I've seen done here is to sell the lot in groups of 5, 10 or 20 discs. Let the buyers reserve the titles they want and then offer economies of scale, like:
5/$60
10/$100
20/$180
Or similar ... I feel it is unlikely that someone will pony up ~2 grand for the whole lot unless they are starting a video rental store or something.

Total came to 201 DVDs and the asking price is $1750. I also have this on eBay so I will not break up the package, but will aknowledge a seller here first. The discs are in immaculate condition and were played on a Toshiba 9200 DVD.
Thanks,
Tommy
