I have a DVD player that is capable of upconverting the output signal to 1080i. My TV also upconverts incoming signals to 1080i. My question is this: Is the TV upconverting and already upconverted signal from my DVD player? What exactly happens in a case like this?

    Maybe you're getting a 2160i signal?[IMG]

    Good question though.

no, if your TV is fed 1080i, it leaves it like that.

you have a choice as to whether the upconverting is happening in the TV or the DVD player. One may have higher quality processing than the other, so examine both with test discs and video material to see which is better.
