On Friday I had the opportunity to attend a private screening of THE MAZE at Bob's house. This was the final master we viewed. Needless to say the Archive has done it again. The motion picture itself, which I had never seen before is a creepy tale of family secrets set in an old castle. The 3D...
There was even talk of another kickstarter campaign to try to raise the funds so it doesn't have to come from Mr Williams "on spec" or the 3D-Archive. There are lots of good offers out there but stubbornness seems to be getting in the way.
Admittedly 1.5m$ is a lot of money, however why would MGM not permit restoration if the money came from outside sources and didn't come from them?
Am I reading this correctly?
Seriously.
I couldn't have said it better. We now know this movie is going NOWHERE because the owner thinks it's worth a hell of a lot more than it really is, and that's really unfortunate.
As will SEPTEMBER STORM!
I find this comment disturbing. To me this says the films in your stewardship are nothing more than "property" and you could care less about how they look rather than how much you can make off them. Don't get me wrong, it's your property and you certainly have the...
As would I (and have). However, I don't see this happening unfortunately. Remember too that the distributor as well as the rights owner need to come to mutual agreement on what is a fair price. If one party or the other thinks it is too little or too much, nothing's going to happen...
So, one of the topics at hand is HANNA LEE in 3D, yet that title seems to be purposely being sidestepped. An offer was made to restore it. Perhaps Mr. Williams doesn't think it's a good enough offer. OK, I guess I can appreciate that, however if the title is PD, and it has "little chance" of...
I find it interesting how Mr Williams answered all questions, yet he didn't specifically reply to the 3D-Archive's offer to restore HANNAH LEE at their cost.
I don't think you're going to get a better offer than that. Since you're so afraid of not making any money because the film is PD, take...
I watched mine last night. Some very enjoyable stereoscopic photography in this film, and very natural looking. There are several scenes of Rita when she is confronting Ferrer where she is in the near foreground, and the soldiers are out of focus in the deep background. The shot just shouts 3D -...
Comin' At Ya! should have an alternate title:
"An Eyestrain in Every Scene"
It's got some of the strongest 3D I've every seen on screen. You'll really feel your eyes tuggin' during that one!
And I've gotten some Disney 3D discs myself from the UK region free.
Unfortunately the listing says B/2 and there is no back side photo of the case to see what it actually is.
The listing could be wrong. Or not. No way to tell at this point.
I watched my copy last night, I had the 3D version. The 3D isn't something I can honestly say was "great", I've seen better 3D in other Disney & Pixar productions, but it was done well. Some parts are hilarious (the DMV for instance). The story is very good, but again, I didn't feel it lived up...
i would love to see the Terrytoons released on DVD or Blu-ray. i would also like to see all the cartoons produced by Famous Studios during their early years from the late 40's until they started producing the limited animation work in the late 50's and 60's.
Technical talk aside, I watched DEADPOOL last night, and I have to say it was a most enjoyable experience. I knew nothing about the character or the comic going into this, so my expectations were non-existent. This film is hilarious!
It's a must see!
I won't spoil the post-credits Easter egg...
Really?
I had the extreme pleasure two years ago of having a private tour of the Detroit Opera House by one of it's technical staff members. I got to see the entire place, top to bottom (and above the ceiling too!), other nooks & carnies, and the roof. It is quite a place, beautifully restored...
Many of these have been on the HBO 3D On Demand for several months on my service (Cablevision/Optimum)
I can highly recommend FLY ME TO THE MOON for some great off screen 3D effects. Too bad this one can't be bought in anything other than Anaglyph.
San Adreas wasn't bad, nor Exodus. Max Mad...
I figured it out. I had a YouTube "channel" and a Google account. They aren't the same, but the channel is supposed to default to my account, which it does on all other devices. When I logged off (the BD player) and attempted to log in again, I was presented with the two accounts. I choose the...
I'm hoping somebody out there also uses this model player and can confirm if they are seeing the same issue I am with the YOUTUBE app.
I have a Google account and on all devices I use, I am signed into the same account. When I use the YouTube app on my phone, tablet, or desktop, I see the same...
