Ordered the Philharmonic 3's and a Philharmonic monitor as the center today. Nothing else is totally set but I know I wanted to start with those.
Now I'm thinking about subs.
Was just checking out the Logitech Harmony and it may be along our alley. We have a nest so we don't need automation of the HVAC and we have several Phillips Hue bulbs and controller already. All we really need is a way to control the AV/Home theater stuff out of sight.
I'm looking at what I imagined versus what was quoted and I find it hard to believe that what I have for about the same price wouldn't be so much better. One question that is sticking out for me is: Is the Elan controller and remote worth $2k? And also, what are the other options.
Have 2 quotes in hand. Both feature the AT PB235 sound bar in the master and 3xNile CM7MP in the front and CM7FX for the surrounds. I don't know if I mentioned it but before but both have 2 speakers on our back porch. Both have Elan HC4 system control with a handheld remote.
One has Denon...
When I emailed the company to see which Salk, got an email back very quickly saying that their (Philharmonic) monitor would also make an excellent choice for a center.
Think I'd like to go with in-ceiling surrounds, Denon X4000, Philharmonic 3 L/R, Philharmonic monitor center - think that'd end...
Thanks for all your held schan1269.
The AT PB-235 does seem to have good reviews - even from sites/forums that seem anti-soundbar. Frankly, I'm thinking the 'battle' will be for the front soundstage in the living room. *She does say it's my decision and trusts my judgement.
On another forum...
Installer came by this afternoon. My wife now really likes the idea of a sound bar in the bedroom and ceiling mounts x 5 for the living room. I'm planning on asking for the Denon X4000 for the AVR.I vetoed the Bose sound bar in favor of the Atlantic Technoligies PB-235. The ceiling speakers are...
Just read a comment on another thread about spending over 2000 on a receiver. That comment suggested that at that price I should be looking at separate amplifiers rather than an uber receiver.
Follow-up question to my speaker question for living room HT set-up. I've been reading and looking through things online and it seems clear to me that towers are far superior than in-ceiling. Our living room does provide for the LCR to be in the right places fortunately. However, the...
Hi, second post much like the first. We're moving into our 'retirement house' after years in Army housing (and not bothering to upgrade our AV stuff). We just got a Samsung 55" 3D smart TV last year and that moved our 36" Sony HDTV from a couple of years before that to our bedroom. Feel pretty...
