I understand good speakers last much longer than all the electronics, but isn't the total price of everything you've connected to the BIC V830 much higher than the speakers themselves? Given what I have and will have as sources, would I be spending at least $5000 on speakers?

Sounds like I could save a lot by investing in much less powerful speakers and still have great sound... didn't people say you should spend as much on audio as you do on video for a balanced system?

I'm assuming you were talking about the tweeter design... it seems like domes are more traditional and easier to make compared to ribbons. One does not necessarily sound better than the other, right? I really like the thin and clean look of Def Tech and GoldenEar. But I'm a little concerned...

I see. What about Def Tech's speakers? Are they much different from GoldenEar's at similar price level? Given they were founded by the same people.
