What's the last TV DVD/Blu-ray you bought?

How to Marry a Millionaire Season 2 Until I read about it here, I had never heard of the series at all, and I thought I had seen or been aware of all shows from the 1950s. This one is really good. I was pleasantly surprised at how well this show was written and acted. Barbara Eden especially...

Those are counterfeits, not bootlegs. How did they get away with it?

What's the last TV DVD/Blu-ray you bought?

Received the Thriller Complete Series set today. It looks to me like an official release and not a bootleg. There are other places that have the series on sale. The Donna Reed Show, Season 4

Press Release MPI Press Release: The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet Seasons 1 & 2 (DVD)

I am on the last season of the show, the color season. I am going to hate to be finished with it. It is a bit jarring to go from the black and white of the first 13 seasons to the rich color of the last. Contrary to some opinion, I found this show was just as good as it ever was in its...

Can Someone Tell me Why Chico and the Man is MIA?

I would like to know why the first season of this show got deleted off YT. It doesn't make any sense at all. I don't see how this series will ever be released in its entirety on an official DVD. The manner of his death all but guarantees this won't happen. It is a shame.

Can Someone Tell me Why Chico and the Man is MIA?

Prinze was a little different than Pete Duel. Duel was almost a decade older than Prinze when he killed himself. Prinze was widely liked in the entertainment industry, and his death was a profound shock to all those who knew him, not just to his fans and the general public. Co-star Jack...

Can Someone Tell me Why Chico and the Man is MIA?

With Chico, it may have been out of respect for the family as to why it wasn't syndicated much or at all plus putting it on video or streaming services. It was so shocking and so terrible, especially given Prinze was only 22. It was especially horrible for his estranged wife, Kathy, as Prinze...

Can Someone Tell me Why Chico and the Man is MIA?

I am watching episodes of this show (the FP episodes) on YouTube, and it is a very funny show. I suspect the fact he killed himself is the real reason the show has not made it to DVD. I seems like yesterday it happened, and when his son was making it big on his own in show business in the...

What did you watch this week in classic TV on DVD(or Blu)?

I have to say the dining room chairs in Ozzie and Harriet in the ninth season were the ugliest things I ever saw. I don't know what junkyard Ozzie found them, but they are UGLY.

What did you watch this week in classic TV on DVD(or Blu)?

Now watching season 1 of Dick Powell's Zane Grey Theater. I am convinced the half-hour format was ideal for westerns; longer than that, they tend to drag. This show had so many familiar faces. One of the episodes featured both Wendell Corey and Gerald Mohr. The interesting thing about these...

What did you watch this week in classic TV on DVD(or Blu)?

I was looking at an episode from season 8 of The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, and there was an episode that showed David, I am certain of it, having a copy of Playboy magazine hidden somewhat away but shown to the camera. I thought, my goodness, this is a foreshadowing of things to come...

What did you watch this week in classic TV on DVD(or Blu)?

In later seasons, The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet went from having Hotpoint sponsor their program to Kodak. With both sponsors, of course, there was some product placement in episodes, which I find funny. It gets downright surreal, however, when Kodak took over sponsorship and Ozzie was...

What did you watch this week in classic TV on DVD(or Blu)?

Just finished Season 2 of The Phil Silvers Show and beginning Season 3. I also just finished with Season 5 of The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet. I can't get enough of this show. Seventy years after it premiered on television, it still holds up beautifully and is as funny as show as was ever...

What did you watch this week in classic TV on DVD(or Blu)?

I am alternating between Season 5 of The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet and Season 2 of The Phil Silvers Show. I am enjoying both tremendously. I have to say that Phil Silvers was as good an actor as any who ever appeared in front of a camera. There is a reason why he won acting awards both...

What did you watch this week in classic TV on DVD(or Blu)?

Getting close to the homestretch on the first season of The Phil Silvers Show. There is an episode called "Miss America," and I couldn't help but think Nat Hiken and any other writers of this episode were thinking of Phil Silvers having once been married to a Miss America, Jo-Carroll Dennison...

What did you watch this week in classic TV on DVD(or Blu)?

I finished season 2 of The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, and I am now watching season 3. There must have been some kind of an in-joke at work when Frank Cady seemed to be in almost every episode by this time playing different characters.
