I am contractually obliged to mention that the Professor could build a rocket, but NOT a raft nor fix the damage to a boat!
Are there any MGM/UA related logos on the DVD version?
A shame, as at the rate we've gone, and are going with the upcoming Fantastic FAKES reboot, the H-B version is still the BEST version of the F4 we've ever had. In any other media!!! ('94 series is a close one, but tainted by that first season)
Waiting for info in S2 about "Americanization of Ivan". Since Elton John was a cleared artist, I assume no more edits and no more gibberish talk about "terrible dressers"?
This is like the case of Rhoda's premiere episode, as Fox/Shout claimed to not have a usable version of the CBS quality version with the Mary Tyler Moore cameo and all. But it does exist in the Paley Center (formerly Museum of TV & Radio), from a Viacom print of all things...so it was seen in...
A minor one by comparison, but the 2001 Transformers: Robots in Disguise. Yes it was a silly anime dub, but has not been seen for so long in the States. Some episodes not at all due to being just after 9/11.
Yes, sometimes changing dialogue like a network version of an R-rated movie (I recall one instance where they redubbed someone to say "The Swords" and not "The Doors." And then there's the whole Americanization of Ivan incident...say, has someone figured out which copy Antenna TV uses yet?!!!?)
Well with CBS I tend to think the worst at all time...an attitude that usually doesn't disappoint. But like I said, one of the sets in a CBS box had half of "The Warning" on the back about edited episodes.
So do the CBS packaging Bradys have the same content as the PTV packaging versions? No additional music changes or logo changes? Cause I was alarmed when I saw half of the CBS "warning" on the back of a season.
It depends...sometimes it's just the natural evolution of a company (Screen Gems --> CPT --> C-T TV --> SPT) but other times it reeks of revisionist history like when CBS does it to ALL the Paramount Television properties, most of which WEREN'T on CBS! The other infamous example would be the...
But is this true for the CBS-labelled ones? (the one I saw does have half of That Warning on the back cover...so I fear like I said that they "butchered" it in the usual way)
...what do we have to do to get Robots in Disguise on DVD at last? I know it isn't as fondly remembered as other 2000s TF series, but I'd like to see it again...and in many cases, for the first time as the series was one of the "screwed by 9/11" instances. I think we can take the destruction...
Yes, the DiC/Cloverway version was not perfect, but if it weren't for that, I bet a lot of you would have NO IDEA what Sailor Moon was. If it was available, I would have liked to see at least some bonus discs with those episodes. That said, a true-to-original dub is welcomed!
If Shout can pull this off, surely they can finally get Rhoda S5 (small potatoes compared to this)????? More MTM productions like Phyllis and St. Elsewhere (so we can finally lay to rest whether the finale has been permanently censored, and cause the show is awesome of course...)??????
Probably ancient news, but I saw a S1 Brady in Target under the CBS label. Are these the same prints as the Paramount DVDs, or were any "Constantly Butchering" changes made?
Are the episodes on the UK versions unedited? There were various cuts when the show(s) were seen in the US in the late 90s/early 2000s.
I THINK SMahAF is on Netflix still, no?
I know...the only solace is that they are usually handled with respect even after Charles' death. So I would HOPE that means that they won't stick in farting jokes, wacky pop culture references, etc. like they do with every other 2000s revival.
Back to the original topic, and particularly...
