Ok...I think I narrow it down to the Onkyo, because any other that is 4ohm capable is either way to expensive or don't have pre-outs. That way if for some reason i need more juice or decide to make all my surrounds 4ohm...i can opt for ext. amps. Now need to sell my Denon to afford...
Nice, but need them to be in-wall and these are 4ohm also...that would create further issues with receiver without getting a ext. amp. Plus my back surrounds are already MB Quart 8ohm. Like to keep the surrounds 8 ohm...and leave the fronts 4 ohm and solve the issue. Will look at their in wall...
So is it a good thing i got this set in 2001? I dont find many threads with anyone using these. They have been great, but never met or heard anyone with them to compare their experience. They seem pretty high end. Do you have any recommendations for a lower AVR with pre-outs with intention to...
Thank you so much. You have any insight on these types of speakers? Ill re-post them here: MB QUART- QL series Front-C404 (4ohm) Center-C304 (4ohm) Surround-A46 (8ohm) and future buy DEFINITIVE TECHNOLOGY DI 5.5BPS (for side surround)
Be a big loss consider i paid a lot more less then two years ago...i think in the $500 range for this Denon. I re-checked my old SONY and found out why it sounded better. It clearly shows 4ohm compatibility for front and center speaker and even has a selector switch for 8ohm or 4ohm. Wish it had...
I understand... and i do very much appreciate your time and responses. I just looking to make this right. I meant get the Emotiva UMC-200 which is a 7.1 Home Theater Preamp/Surround Processor and then get a UMP-700 amp for the speakers. These two together cost $1000. THen i guess sell the Denon...
Ok, Im a little novice to the whole gain/ 4 ohm output and power. That I guess has been my issue. I didn't know the right questions to ask when getting this AVR. But if That receiver is >$1000(Denon 990), would it not be better to go with a Emotiva set up which would also be around the same...
So in conclusion, the Denon just doesn't cut the mustard for my speakers? I went to the store with my speaker specs and this is what was recommended.... Makes me frustrated. What about my other option of the Emotiva set up. Any input?
So what would you recommend to accommodate this set up? The Denon is only 2 years old, but sounds like it is not sufficient enough for my speakers and since no pre outs, I cant just ad a ext. amp for the fronts (which are 4ohm). I have put a lot of time and effort into this theater room, and my...
I checked...don't have the pre outs ( i thought it did). Question then is this Receiver ample enough for my speakers. These are really great speakers and I bought them in 2001, when still made in Germany. Just seems that the Sony I used with them sounded better then the new Denon. Your help is...
Just to add side note. I am looking for any recommendations or advise to the best set up of my HT room. I can go into more specific details of my equipment if some would be interested in helping me out. Thanks in advance for everyone's advise FYI have an Epson HD projector as video source.
Hello, First thread, but have had this questions for years even after setting up my HT. I upgraded my beloved old but reliable Sony 5.1 AVR for a new Denon 7.1 AVR so that I could run multiple HDMI from Blue Ray, DirecTV, and SONY PS3 to one Projector. However, it feels and sounds like the Denon...
