I think im good where they are at.. If I spend any more time playing with speakers n stuff my wife is going to get a little jealous.. If she isn't already. :D
so I left the Sub Level to -1dB and bumped up the Gain... back to thumping now... very nice. I hope Im doing this right lol.. I guess as long as the sub isnt distorting or bottoming out it is ok right?
Ugggh lol.. I was told exactly the opposite over at AVR in the outlaw sub owners thread.. They say "once you get the Audyssey to set the Sub Trim as close to 0bd (in my case I got it to -1dB) then so not touch the gain on the sub again and use the receiver to adjust it.. lol..
Well I got my sub level down to -1dB in Audyssey.. I had to put the gain on the sub all most all the way turned down, it's at about 2.. Is my bass impressive now, NO.. No wall shaking seat vibrating bass now. To get it back to even being close to impressive I have to run it at least at 10dB...
Got it down to -1db but the volume knob is on like 1.75 and with the volume on the receiver turned up to -20dB the bass is hardly there... I can't get good bass now unless I turn the Bass level in the receiver to 10.dB Sounds great there.. Is this bad?? If I turn the volume to -4 db it's pumping...
I guess I'm totally electronically illiterate. My receiver is only 80w per channel and I don't even know for sure if that includes the sub channel.. My receiver isn't pushing enough juice to the sub even at high volume to bring the sub even close to it's potential so if the gain on the sub is on...
Wow I found a good forum about my specific sub over at AVS.. I've been running it WAY too hot. General consensus is the gain should be set to 2-3 on the sub.. Sounds crazy though, what's the sense in having a 350w amp if you can't even turn it up??
So say I run Audyssey again and get it tweaked to within +-3 and then the bass isn't loud enough.. Would I use the receiver to turn it up or the volume know on the sub?
Hmm, ok I guess I'll have to play with it tonight. I was looking at Audysseys directions on their site and it looks like I was setting the mic out too far from the center of the room in some of the positions too.
Dont mean to ask stupid questions, but what's the difference between getting to +-3 in the receiver or just adjusting the gain on the sub to where it sounds good?
So I got my sub finally (Outlaw LFM-1 Plus) it's pretty bad ass but I'm trying to tweak my sound. Here's my current settings, if you can see something that's off at all let me know. I think the Sub settin at -12dB is weird? I'm geting great bass, Listening to a bunch of Dubstep tracks.. I never...
Ya I've been looking through Amazon and a couple other places, I see what you mean about the DVD videos being mixed in.. I can't find a whole lot of music I like too much.. I'm more into heavier stuff.. Although some of the Pink Floyd, SRV and there's a Toby Keith that might be good lol.. Adele...
Wow if it gets better than the ProLogic I'll have to check it out! I never knew there were different format options available for CD's I just thought a music CD was a music CD.. Do music stores display these SACD's in their own racks or are they mixed in with the regulars or what? Geez I sound...
I use my PS3 for Movies, that and Netflix. I've been listening to music off of YouTube today and a lot of it sounds like it must have 5.1 tracks unless my receiver is just splitting it up. But the way the backup vocals and certain musical parts were coming in from the surrounds they must be in...
Being a musician I've been to countless shows, played shows, listened to lots of stereos and PA's etc.. I can't believe I've never heard music through a surround system before.. Man have I been missing out. I didn't know music could sound so awesome! I haven't even got my sub in yet today but...
Yeah I used a tripod but I probably didn't set it in the right spots.. Not gonna mess with it till my sub gets here today!! I hope FedEx gets here before I go to work. It'll be a long night waiting to get home and play lol.
So I got my receiver today and tonight after work I did a quick 5.0 audyssey setup minus the sub.. All I can say is WOW! Totally awesome! I am already satisfied and I'm sure the sub is going to be the icing on the cake! A couple observations though, Listening to music on youtube, sounds the best...
