Thanks! I think that the twist and tape option might be the route I would go because all the wires I use are behind furniture and won't get tugged. I think that I will put packing tape over the electrical tape, maybe, to add strength, but that seems to be the easiest and cheapest.
Thank You, everyone. At this point, I am probably just going to use wire nuts since they will mostly be behind furniture, and won't get damaged. I didn't even know that they had aluminum speaker wire, I just thought that they were all copper. How would I be able to tell the difference? I could...
I am upgrading my sound system from 5.1 to 7.1 and in doing this, I will be adding speakers and rearranging then. The additional pair I will be getting will be from a friend; these speakers have wire coming out of them, but no wire input wire" clamps," so to speak. So, to connect to these...
A stereo receiver that outputs to 5.1 speakers? That kind of seems pointless to me. Thankfully, though, the receiver was free, for me. I guess this means I would need to buy a new receiver.
I have a question about getting a true surround sound signal into my receiver. I currently am using an older Panasonic SA-HT67 reciver, some Dayton Audio and Boston Acoustic speakers. My general setup regarding the computer input is using an external, Creative sound card with a 3.5mm jack to two...
Thanks! Yes I realized that after doing some research into them. I completely changed the previous post after realizing this, as I have figured out what I am going to do. The Dayton speakers, that come in pairs, seem to be really good for the price!
Or, and this is probably the way I will go, I can buy two pair of the Dayton Audio speakers, so that way the front and rear match, and use my Boston Acoustics as a center speaker, and it would still be the same price. My one last question is, can I plug both Boston Acoustics into the "center...
I have two questions dealing with expanding the home theater setup I currently have (2.1) to a true 5.1 system. I recently acquired a receiver (Panasonic sa ht67), 2 bookshelf speakers (Boston Acoustics HD5) and a sub-woofer (not sure of the brand, I think it is Panasonic as well) from a...
