I never thought I'd see this day ... ON A CLEAR DAY YOU CAN SEE FOREVER (1970) is due out on Blu-ray on May 26, 2020. Does anyone have a press release or info? I'd love to know the details on this release. Here's the Amazon link ......

Yes, OWL & THE PUSSYCAT is up for preorder in HD on iTunes. It’s released March 3 ..... I’m excited, just hope Columbia/Sony will provide the unedited version where Streisand says the f-word. All home video versions on dvd have been edited. You have to go back to vhs tapes & laser disk to...
Thanks for the link, Garysb! That's my Streisand website .... and I have a HUGE obsession with ON A CLEAR DAY, which I have done a lot of research on. I have a big collection of photos, especially from some of the cut scenes. Unfortunately, I have found over the years that it is doubtful the...
Criterion once released the Streisand-approved PRINCE OF TIDES laser disc. I would love to own a Blu-ray that included all (or most!) of the bonus features from that disc, including Streisand's director's commentary.
Here's one example:
As a Streisand fan, I love her comedy THE OWL & THE PUSSYCAT, which was rated R when it came out in movie theaters originally. There's one scene where Streisand tells off a bunch of guys on the street -- "F^&$ off." Since probably the 1990s, there has not been a home video...
The question confused Kathleen Kennedy. And the rabid STAR WARS fans read into the question/answer and it got posted all over the internets out of context.
I watched the video yesterday in full. IF he meant to ask her if Disney would release the ORIGINAL UNCUT films, then .... Big fail. He...
I loved LA LA LAND ... just received my Blu-ray today, so I will pop it in tonight.
My only complaint is the Special Features (and I've already purchased the iTunes version, which has the exact same bonus features): These were all online when the movie was out. I've seen them all. I suppose...
Have you guys read this? In a nutshell: original negative has been cut, although the trims were saved. It doesn't look good for an "un-special" release.

I'm so late to the LA LA LAND party! I finally saw it this weekend. I can't stop thinking about it, am listening to the soundtrack every day, and cannot wait for the Blu-ray.
I love musicals so much, and LA LA had me crying in the first scene! (Not because it was sad -- because it was so...
I just wanted to thank the people who've commented on this thread -- I ordered and received the Blu-ray box, and have watched 2 of the four films so far (ORIENT and NILE). For me, at this price (about $20 per disc), in the Blu-ray format, this is a great set. ORIENT and NILE look good to me --...
Got it!!
This Blu-ray is gorgeous. The sound is really spectacular, too.
Playing it on my Oppo player, I have no Region problems. The only annoying thing was that there are French subtitles over the musical numbers only. Using my Control4, I could not shut them off. I had to get out my...
I've watched it twice now, and -- it looks gorgeous to me. Super quality. The thing that surprised me more than the quality is that it's such a GREAT film. It's old-fashioned and modern all at once. Jeff Bridges gives a slow-smoldering performance that I just love.
Thanks, Chuck, for the good explanation regarding a standard-def, old-school 1986 or 1987 being released on Blu-ray. I wasn't "getting" it. Hopefully they're not going to crop it and will display it in the "square" 4:3 format. The sound should definitely be better on Blu-ray.
I'd be curious to see the unaltered STAR WARS trilogy on Blu -- even though it would contain flaws and all.
However, to purchase them, I would have to have another reason: like some sort of bonus material (is there anything more they could pull from the archives??)
I, too, have opened my...
Such an amazing film. Like others here, hard to watch often/more than once because it's very sad. Marvin Hamlisch's score can make me cry when I hear it played. I'll be ordering this. I have an old DVD somewhere. I'd love to see a Blu-ray of Streep's PLENTY, too -- great flick!
Michael, I linked and Tweeted and posted your article to all my Barbra-friends. It's most excellent.
I wish you'd been able to ask Crisp about bonus features (or lack of them) -- and I've interviewed Barbra's constituents before and know what a tightrope walk that can be, because you don't...
