well because i already have a dinky link for every tv. If I can just use them then i dont have to spend more money. And its one less thing hanging by the tv.

my question is can i use the wii controler over the monoprice dinky link? Or do i have to extend the sensor bar? all my devices are located in an AV closet. i read that the controllers talk to the console using bluetooth. If so i will be within 25ft of the console.

changed my mind on this. i have purchased a monoprice 4x4 matrix. it did the trick. thanks for all the help!

just to finish up this topic, i have the 4x4 matrix up and installed with the harmony remotes. everything is working as planned. thanks alot for all the help guys!

This is all great info and sorry I have not gotten back in awhile. I have been setting up some other home theater projects and doing honey do lists. Lol. I will see if I can put together a drawing of my room layout. Hopefully that would help.

So I am an audiophile when it comes to car audio. But as far as home audio im just a beginner. I know all the same basics apply ie: S/N, THD, RMS, and so on. But the manufacters i am used to hearing in car audio dont always make home audio. Im looking for some ideas and info as a starting point...

It's the Logitech harmony one remote. Yes the components are stacked in a closet. And the cables to go IR system is the next time to look at and buy.

i plan on using harmont one remote and monoprice matrix 4x4. is that a good setup choice?

Yes thank you Robert, the Harmony 880 sounds like an amazing remote and has the capabilties that i want. But for $288 maybe i dont need all of the "bells and whistles". Is there a more reasonably priced remote that can do the same funtions?

Schan1269, you had mentioned the IR remote with blaster. What is a blaster? Also you mentioned for the remotes the Xantech. What are the capabilities of that?

Thanks Robert that sounds like what I am trying to do. Question is do you have 2 remotes to switch the inputs on the matrix? Or do you just walk the 1 remote back and forth between tvs?

Why is the difference between HDMI splitter and a Matrix? Each room can share Xbox, DVD, And Cable. I just want to be able to watch DVD on one, cable on another. and play Xbox on the third. And each tv should be able to do any of the options. Comcast is the provider, and I'm not sure if the do...

No I don't think I need the receiver for two 5.1 systems but I'm just curious how it works. I want a receiver with 3 Hdmi outputs. Or is that not possible? Also I read somewhere that if you have 7.1(for example) you can put the two extra speakers in a different room. But could they be...

thanks robert that makes sence to me now. And I think the two tv's i want the xbox360 on are within range of my "central location" so i dont have to worry about that, only spliting the video feed to the two separate tv's. Now i just need to find receiver that can do what i am looking to do.

No it's an existing home but one I get from upstairs to downstairs its easy after that. Due to the fact the basement is drop ceiling. And no I dont think the Xbox controller works over rf. but if I could splitter and extender to each tv I could run a wire for that. Don't really know yet about...

So this is my plan, and I need a little help with some of the steps. I have 3 hdmi tv's and I'm going to have them mounted on the wall in different rooms. I want to have all my devices ie; Xbox, cable receiver, DVD player, and possibly some sort of DVR, in another room all backed up by my UPS...
