Just answered a thread here dealing with this issue. Never covered in any owners manuals...as it is "not a feature" and just a byproduct of switching implementation... Watching something while listening to a different audio source. Easy to do when your AVR has straight audio connections...

A 19" Seiki open-box for $76 at HH Gregg. My 13" monitor(also LCD, though "not a TV") died. This 19" is actually smaller overall. Use it to see online audio content so I don't waste my plasma or projector. Almost bought another 60" LG plasma though. $600 and 1 HDMI input is just tempting...
