Just to blow your mind. I'm a huge fan of Big Fat Liar, however I completely understand the desire for more catalog releases. The truth is, WHV releases more BD catalog titles than any other, the problem is that these titles don't come out fast enough (especially compared with all the titles in...
Well, the difference is that The Sorpranos should be able to do fine at mass retail, just like it did on DVD. I'm talking about the content that really actually does not have a future at retail, like some TV shows, HBO Comedy Specials, Documentaries, TV Specials, etc.
I sure hope this is the case. I get excited when I think of all the native-HD content that the company has (WB TV shows, HBO content, Turner content, etc.) that could easily be put onto a Blu-Ray. HBO Comedy Specials on Blu-Ray, anybody?
I'd expect to see lees titles from Buena Vista. While 30 films was a great number, many of the releases were sub-par to horrendous, and all the recent releases have been of excellent quality. Quality-over-quantity.
Other than some of the fantastic titles already announced, I love to see: Stranger Than Paradise (1984) from Criterion Sesame Street Presents: Follow that Bird (1985) from Warner Looney Tunes: Back in Action (2003) from Warner The Powerpuff Girls Movie (2002) from Warner A continuation of the HD...
For the time being I doubt it, considering the fact that these cartoons aren't actually "restored," at least for HD/Blu-Ray standards. I'd imagine (and hope) that Warner properly restores these cartoons, and release them on Blu-Ray via the Warner Archive.
Whenever Turner Entertainment lets them. WHV/WB has absolutely no control over content that is owned by Turner Entertainment. So, all Cartoon Network shows (that are owned in full by Turner) are distributed by Warner Home Video from the command by Turner.
Confirmed by Warner Brothers that the Vitaphone shorts are NOT in HD. Damn. http://www.facebook.com/warnerarchive/posts/10151258515401563?notif_t=feed_comment
Was just confirmed by WB that the Vitaphone shorts are NOT in HD. Damn http://www.facebook.com/warnerarchive/posts/10151258515401563?notif_t=feed_comment
I've never understood hatred toward double dipping on Blu-Ray. Kinda a thing about Blu-Ray is upgrading from DVD to HD. So upgrading from the golden collections AND getting never released shorts that are all RESTORED. +1 :)
I hope they continue releasing seasons consecutively. Rather get one show out of the way and move on to the next one. Personally, other than the fact that it helped hold HB fans over, I wish they had just done a complete series for Pac-Man.
I don't know, I've never heard that before. I'm just really happy that Nickelodeon did something because they generally act as if these game shows never even occurred! Its a step in the right direction. Although its kinda bizarre they released Global Guts before Guts.
I just realized today that Figure it Out (classic and revamp), Global Guts, and Legends of the Hidden Temple are available on iTunes. This really got me excited because hopefully this opens up some opportunity for these shows to be available on DVD. Personally, I would love to see some of these...
