I’m watching Lucy Gallant (1955) on TCM. Just as charming and entertaining as I remember. Any chance of seeing this released on home video through your deal with Paramount?
Should Kino solidify future Universal deals, I’d love to see the following make their U.S. Blu-ray (and in some cases worldwide) debut:
Only Yesterday (1933)
So Red the Rose (1935)
Private Worlds (1935)
The Moon’s Our Home (1936)
Invitation to Happiness (1939)
Unfinished Business (1941)...
It was a year ago on the 20th when we found out that February releases would be moved to March. I’m wondering if we’ll receive similar news next week. Time will tell.
Christopher Strong and Saratoga are a welcome surprise, and a day-one purchase!! For months upon months, I’ve purchased every or almost every WAC release, so it’s nice to have a bit of a reprieve in September.
Happy for the folks looking for more contemporary films- each is worthy of release...
I’ve tried to keep up with the Kino/Paramount release announcements. Unless I missed one, there should be 5 unannounced 70s titles and 3 unannounced 80s titles. My wishlist includes:
70s
Darling Lili
Plaza Suite
The Red Tent
Bang the Drum Slowly
Sidney Sheldon’s Bloodline
80s
First Monday in...
Mr. Insider, any chance of getting Bloodline (1979) on blu ray through your current or a future deal with Paramount? I know- it bombed… badly. And yet, talk about a cast- Audrey Hepburn, Ben Gazzara, James Mason, Omar Sharif, Irene Papas, Beatrice Straight, Gert Frobe, Romi Schneider, Claudia...
I know!!! So happy- I pre-ordered all 5 of the April titles. With countless amazing April blu ray releases from WAC and other labels, I may not be eating this month, but at least I’ll have amazing films to watch as I stave off hunger 🤣
Thank you, Kino! Excellent work from Reynolds, Clayburgh, and Bergen, and a stellar script by Brooks. I’ve been waiting for this one, and it was well worth it. A must buy!
YES to all of the above: Elephant Walk, in its widescreen aspect ratio (1.85?) and Ash Wednesday- one of my guilty pleasures- in HD!
And who wouldn’t welcome Jessica Fletcher to blu ray with open arms???
Excited by the possibility of another Paramount deal! I'd love to see some of my holy grails from the '50s (September Affair, Let's Dance, The Mating Season, Wild is the Wind) and the '60s (The Pleasure of His Company, My Six Loves, This Property is Condemned, Oh Dad, Poor Dad, Mama's Hung You...
I hope I'm allowed to share this. I've always had vivid, realistic dreams during sleep. Last night was no exception, only this time, I dreamt about a slate of WAC releases. The dream itself played out like one of the videos WAC used to post on its Facebook page, where one of the members would...
