Hooked up the 7.1 system and it is now going into protect mode any ideas why this is starting to happen after it is on for say ten minutes or so? Appreciate all the help I can get.
From what I am seeing on the back of the sub there is a positive and negative like any common speaker. Looks like im in the market for an amp now. I bought an RCA to speaker wire style jack at Radio Shack today but it does not seem to be working either so I am guessing amp is my only saving...
Short and sweet I have an RCA port on the back of the receiver and I need it to convert to the speaker wires that lead to my sub. So I need an RCA to speaker wire conversion. The sub takes speaker wire and I need it to convert into an RCA single port in the back of the receiver. Anyone know the...
CB750 and a handful of others just spent weeks with me going over how to do this very thing. I too have the spouse not wanting speakers all over so I went with in walls and in ceilings. Nobody here likes those but I have them in and am very happy with them so far. I too have a 7.1 and I am...
There is what I can only describe as a thread spool with wire tightly coiled around it that has come unglued to the motherboard of the speaker. Does anyone know what adhesive is commonly used so that I may get some and re-adhere it?
Receivers will both be here tomorrow and I will test them both to see which does what I am looking for. Thanks to everyone who helped me figure it out! I will keep you posted on how it turns out. Sorry for being so uneducated about this stuff but definately happy I had this forum to be able to ask.
Sounds as if you need some wall speaker brackets or some poles to put them on and turn them toward you. I know your pain brother I just went to the bose store today and they have grid paper for you to draw out your situation and they came up with a very good plan for me on speaker placement. And...
Wow that was both insightful and poetic... problem is your right. Thing about it is that I am not trying to make this my new hobby I am just trying to watch my favorite flicks and hear the rain drops on the movie. Yet at the same time I need it to sound well and not cause me some massive...
at this point im being cautious and have not installed them yet, I have in ceilings right now but I can easily use the in walls instead but they do not swivel so I am worried if i put them flat in my walls i dont feel like we will have the sound get to us but go into the middle of the room. This...
I gotcha Dave but the wife says " I dont want to see speakers everywhere" I barely got this stuff as it is as she sees this as a big waste of money. But thats a womans opinion on most things that usually pertain to guys. The sub is passive I am going to run a 6.1 for now I am just trying to...
Well lesson learned I have in wall and ceiling and i as per the spouse am not allowed to spend anymore so I have to make due with what i have. These speakers from monoprice are supposed to be made especially to work with that small area of space. What would you suggest behind couch on that size...
LCD all the way they last longer look great and do not have the problems the plasmas have plus a better cost. I can say i recently went and looked at teles myself and that Aquos tv is a very nice tele the Sony looked like butt next to it. Sharp, Panasonic, Zenith, Samsung, LG are all making very...
I am only running one sub. And I get the point on the in walls and ceilings but a stipulation of the significant other was either spend 2k on a decent bose system which im not forking over that kind of money for a surround, or make it not be seen which the in walls pretty much cover. I am pretty...
A friend is telling me to put my in wall sub behind the couch, I can put it in the wall next to the fireplace which points directly at the sitting place. Is this a no brainer putting it next to the fireplace on a 15w x 30L ft room only using 15x15 only separated by a sectional.
I am too now that I am faced with possibly not having the watts to push all these speakers plus trying to figure out how to mount them in wall instead of in ceiling. The construction portion easy the proper placement not so easy
I as I stated before am a bit of a newb when it comes to these peice by peice sets I have always had in box sets and they take all the guess work out of the setup process. Now that I have this and my HK is on its way the question is will a 350w HK 7.1 system, power these 4 two way 6.5's 60w...
So im done with the purchases I am pretty sure I am going to be pretty amazed with the sound going from box sets to larger individual peices so here is what I have feedback is always appreciated. Pioneer sx-315 5.1 receiver (prob going to be replace shortly) 1000w All Monoprice: 2-in...
