It seems that the pedals are off the streaming rose. With streaming services seeming to have peaked in subscribers and several are now in subscriber decline HBO and Netflix are both there and the other services growth has slowed to a trickle (Disney has slowed and the stock took a tumble)...
Do we know if there will be any additional releases from the HB library? A shout out to my friends here I havent posted lately and plan to be more active as im finished with school and back into my hobby. I have purchased all the HB blurays that have been released. The flintstones Jetsons...
Any album? As the good Gene WIlder once said "Wrong sir, wrong". Many albums I collect are not on these services. I was wanting to listen to the full Star Trek the Motion Picture soundtrack and these services didnt have the full album only one or two songs. This has happened to me in the past...
Isnt it possible that we will see very inexpensive region free players. These manufacturers will not be required to conform to any of the region locking if they choose not to.
The slowdown in Hanna Barbera started around the time of the release of the HB anniversary disc sets by regular Warners. The press release said many series never before released would be but that never happened. Has regular Warner video arm released HB programming from the moratorium so it can...
I thought patents can be renewed and if not renewed it opens up the market so anyone can make them? According to legals "No one else can manufacture or sell your invention unless you give permission. ... Depending on what you've invented, your patent will expire in either 14 or 20 years. When...
I am curious where your source is on these HB titles not selling? I keep up with many of the popular forums and podcasts and havent seen or heard anything on this. Have I missed something? I have noticed an overall warner archive slowdown on all titles live action and animation.
I also notice very few LCD and LED panel makers with rebadged tv in various companies and models. This happens throughout the CE world it seems. Also recently noticed new Verbatim drives, TEAC drives and Hitachi drives. Not concerned about not finding drives in the future I can still buy new...
I thought they said Porky Pig did well? I dont think they mentioned HB doing poorly if memory serves. But over the past few years they have released very little so how can they say it's not selling if the haven released any???
I think we will see more HB releases. They are taking their sweet time though getting them out. All animation that is restored or worked on can be sold not only in a disc format but also any other physical or digital EST or Rental stream service as well. The HB releases have been good sellers...
I know what your saying, sales of discs are in decline but they are in the Multi Billions of dollars a year. I'm not a negative Nancy! That's a lot of sell thru and doesnt include EST sales which are also in the billions. Laser disc survived for years with sales in the millions. Collectors...
As far as DVD dying I would hardly call an industry that makes Multi Billions in 2018 "dead" . Also digital download sales are on the increase. Still lots of people buying even though not as many as previously were. Also I have begun purchasing digital downloads of series it seems Warner...
Thanks. Im wondering if Im missing some of the Looney Toons as well that are not on dvd possibly mixed in with the individual character listing on Boomerang?
Does anyone know what titles are only available on Electronic Sell thru vs disc? So far Ive found Yo Yogi and The Fred and Barney Show. I'm thinking Ive forgot a few of them.
Im wondering what happened to the big anniversary plans last year with the promise of many seasons being released that...
They definitely need to fix the issues they are having with EST. Hopefully someone steps up to the plate. What "Critical Vendor" do they speak of? Flixster is owned by Fandango.
Hoping we see some more announcements from the Warner Archive and the Warner Entertainment camps about releases, maybe at Comic Con. They say new to DVD and Digital. Lets see some new to DVD releases, please!!!
With Billions in physical sales every year (yes even in 2017) and sales leveling out overall,It will be many years before Physical "dies" on the vine. Ive been hearing doomsaying for years and I can still purchase the media at all my favorite outlets I like at very good prices.
On another note...
I think (yes I sometimes do, lol) that we will probably see some announcements around the upcoming San Diego Comic Con. Since this is the 60th Anniversary I would expect to see some sort of HB promotion via Warner or Warner Archive. Time will tell...
The release does state "Many" which have never been released on DVD and digital. Sounds like a bit more new stuff is on the way :). We shall see. I would like to see more of the flintstone spin off series. Dont we have a few more of those to see released?
“Diamond Collection” will include over 70 seasons of the most popular animated titles of the 50s, 60s and 70s, many of which have not been released on DVD or Digital until now. The “Diamond Collection” will feature brand-new packaging, new digital content, discount pricing and select free...
No they are talking about Electronic Sell Thru. Also Grape Ape for example is available in electronic sell thru but not yet DVD. Im thinking that one would be a good release candidate.
From Digital Bits:
"Warner Bros Home Entertainment has just unveiled their new Hanna-Barbera Diamond Collection line of DVD and digital releases, set to include a wave of “over 70 seasons of the most popular animated titles of the 50s, 60s and 70s, many of which have not been released on DVD and...
